Hi, Can anyone please suggest if the DDR4 RAM is supported for HP Elitebook 840 G1 model. This laptop supports total of 16GB RAM. I have 8GB DDR3 in one slot and can I place DDR4 8GB RAM in another slot ? Thanks

My laptop is Lenovo E41-15 which has a single ram slot. It now runs with 4gb ddr3 single channel ram.
I bought a new 8gb module but it is a dual channel ram. Will the ram work in my laptop or should i get a single channel ram ???
